Gaudium Miracle Baby born after 15 failed IVF cycles

Hailed as the Gaudium Miracle Baby, this baby was born in the very first successful attempt at Gaudium after 15 failed IVF cycles (1 in UK and 14 in India).

Mrs. Saphla Rani Bhatia, 55 years of age, had undergone multiple failed fertility treatments at renowned clinics in India and abroad. The patient had severe Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which had prevented her from conceiving naturally. At Gaudium IVF Delhi, she was treated for PCOS and poor endometrial receptivity through a special treatment protocol. Her FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone/LH (Luteinizing Hormone) ratio were disturbed due to severe PCOS for several years. As part of a customised protocol, an *endometrial scratch was performed and the embryo **glue was instilled 48 hours before embryo transfer. These steps were taken to improve endometrial receptivity as the patient had experienced recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in the past despite good embryos. She was also treated for high blood pressure and high blood sugar, and was given hormone therapy to restore her hormonal balance. After taking these measures, Saphla Rani delivered a healthy baby boy through IVF in 2014.

*Endometrial scratch: The endometrium is gently scratched with a catheter (thin, flexible and sterile tube) to make it more receptive to embryo implantation.

**Embryo glue: Special medical glue which promotes embryo implantation by supporting the embryos to stick to the uterine lining (endometrium).

Success after 12 years of infertility with multiple failed IVF cycles and uterine fibroids

Patient with 12 years of infertility with 14 cm fibroids and multiple failed IVF cycles conceived successfully without removal of fibroids. This patient had undergone myomectomy (fibroid removal surgery) in the past and had history of at least 3-4 unsuccessful IVF cycles. After a few years of her myomectomy, there was a recurrence of fibroids. When she approached Gaudium IVF, Dr. Manika Khanna and her team thoroughly analysed her medical history and decided not to go ahead with fibroid removal as the fibroid was not infringing the endometrial cavity. To optimize the patient’s chances to have a successful IVF cycle, Dr. Khanna and her team performed a careful ultrasound-guided well-planned embryo transfer. The patient delivered a healthy baby boy at 35 weeks.

Success in Korean patient with 4 failed IVF attempts in Korea

Jimin, a 41-year-old woman from Korea came to Gaudium with history of 4 failed IVF cycles. The patient had history of 6 instances of early pregnancy loss as well. Careful steps were taken to identify healthy embryos and to improve her endometrial receptivity. Embryo glue was instilled 48 hours prior to embryo transfer to promote implantation. The patient conceived in the first attempt and delivered a healthy baby.

Successful IVF in patient from East Africa with multiple fibroids

This couple from East Africa had undergone fertility treatment elsewhere before coming to Gaudium. At Gaudium, the patient conceived in the first IVF attempt and delivered healthy quadruplets in early 2016. The patient had undergone Myomectomy (fibroid removal surgery), however she suffered from recurrence of multiple fibroids. Dr. Manika Khanna and her team avoided surgical intervention and went ahead with carefully planned embryo transfer under ultrasound guidance. The patient returned home with four beautiful babies.

Successful twin birth after 12 failed IVF cycles

The patient came to our Srinagar centre with history of 12 failed IVF cycles. She conceived twin pregnancy through successful IVF attempt at Gaudium. In this patient’s case, the use of Recombinant Gonadotropins (fertility medication) was made in a Flare Protocol (specific protocol used in patients with poor response to ovarian stimulation). Assisted laser hatching was done on the patient’s embryos before transfer. These steps led to successful pregnancy and birth of healthy twin babies.
